Koh Phangan's Haad Tian (west) is located on the western shore near the secluded Haad Kruad beach and the popular Haad Yao (west) beach. You can reach the pristine shores of Koh Phangan's Haad Tian by concrete and dirt roads from Chaloklum and Thong Sala.
Haad Tian is a small secluded beach with only one resort. Here the sand is courser mixed with coral deposits. It is fairly close to the reef, but is shallow before it thus swimming conditions are best in high tidal season unless you venture over the reef.
If you are a diver or love to snorkel, you will be happy to hear that Koh Phangan's Haad Tian has a wondrous coral reef just offshore that is sure to dazzle even the most discerning underwater aficionado. However because Haad Tian has a shallow seabed, the best times for swimming are between the months of November and April. If you plan to splash about in the remaining months, you should schedule your swims at Haad Tian to coincide with the high tides. If you intend to stretch out to relax upon the beach so that you can enjoy your favorite pastime, you should bring a padded blanket to Haad Tian. Koh Phangan's Haad Tian has coarse sand and coral deposits that make up its landscape. If you want to wander, you can head inland from Haad Tian and take in the natural splendor of the indigenous flora and fauna that exists at the sides of the road, or you can walk over to one of the two surrounding beaches. In any case, don't forget to bring your camera to Haad Tian.
So if you are on the island, celebrating the fact that you managed to getaway to this island paradise, you should definitely complete your trip by visiting Koh Phangan's Haad Tian (west)!
